In case someone managed to miss it, the reborn super group Backstreet Boys visited Sweden in the beginning of this week. Stureplan couldn’t let the whole thing pass without notice and that’s why we sent out our legendary reporter Thomas Grabe to check the pulse on led singer Brian Littrell (And sing a duet with him but that’s another story)

- Yes
How is he feeling?
- He’s okay. He’s drinking lots of water.
Is he always the worst when you go out?
- Not always. Sometimes he takes it easy, but he’s often pretty wild. Yesterday we played basketball and after a shower he went out and did his thing.
Will you give him a hard time if he sucks tonight?
- Oh Nick usually rocks. He’s a professional. He lives to deliver on stage, not for all that other stuff along the side.
Now I’ll ask the idiotic question that everybody asks and I suppose that you’ll give me the same answer. If I ask “ What do you think about Sweden?” then you have to answer…
- I love Sweden.
Exactly.
- But I really do. Sweden is fantastic, and our relation to this country is very special. A lot of our success and our career was born here. I talked to our good friend Max Martin that jumped on a flight from LA to see the show tonight, so tomorrow I’ll have a cup of coffee with him.
How do I know that you’re not lying? Of course you say that about every country you go to.
- No of course I don’t.
So you mean that if you’re for example in Denmark, you could have said that the place sucked?
- I probably wouldn’t have used those words…But some places are a little more dull than others.
But you do know that we throw foreign celebrities in jail in Sweden?
- Ha ha what?
Bill Murray was arrested for DUI in a golfcart and Axl Rose got wrestled down. One of you will be arrested after the concert. How does that feel?
- He was arrested in a golfcart?

- But it’s great that he was arrested. Everyone is equal to the law.
Eh. Superstar are above the law, you must know that? But it doesn’t matter. Someone in the group will be thrown in jail tonight, that’s the deal. Describe the feeling you get when you hear that.
- It will never happen. Or I hope that it will never happen. But perhaps it would be good from a PR-angle if people talked more about us.
Absolutely, you might actually get your big break thanks to it!
- Ha ha, we discovered it. The only way to get famous is to get drunk and drive a car into a restaurant.
Where do you live when you’re not out touring?
- Atlanta, Georgia.
Why not in LA like all the other cool people?
- I have a house in California, but I wouldn’t call it a home. My son is five and it’s for his sake. A child doesn’t enjoy staying in a hotel during several months when we are recording or rehearsing.
Do you have any cool people that you hang out with in Georgia?
- My family.
Oh please, seriously.
- Usher, Jermaine Dupris and a few others.
They have pretty awesome Cribs, I’ve seen them on MTV. Have you gone over board and built yourself a crazy mansion?
- I wouldn’t’ say that I’ve gone crazy, but if you think that an added 600 square meters with among other things a studio, is to go over board well then I guess so. But that allows me to work at home and play B-ball indoors whenever I want, play pool whenever I want and play ping-pong whenever I want.

- …watch all my records whenever I want and make new ones at home. But I’ve worked hard for it.

- It’s taken fifteen years. How old were you then? Ten?

- We’ve just been doing this for a long time.
But Nick is just 28, he’s just a kid.
- I know he is a little kid. Both him and AJ has spent more than half of their lives as Backstreet Boys.
I think that Nick should get a grip and then get himself a wife. Right?
- Oh he’ll learn. I don’t think he’s ready for a wife yet, but he’ll get there. He’s gotten much better.
I think he should get his act together.

- Why should I be nervous?

- Oh you mean that. Of course I’m a little nervous, something would be wrong if I wasn’t.
